Why?
Standard protocols can feed into OCD loops and cycles with the complex presentation of OCD cases. - ✅Practical Tools: Receive your own blank template of our specialised EMDR Case Conceptualisation tool.
- ✅Step-by-Step Guidance: A copy of the OCD-EMDR Integrative framework / Protocol (developed with the support of Mark Brayne).
- ✅Clinical Confidence: Watch role-played demonstrations and learn from real case studies that illustrate how to apply these techniques
- ✅Holistic Insight: Learn to differentiate OCD from other anxiety disorders and assess risk when working with ego-dystonic and/or ego-syntonic thoughts (Harm/POCD).
- ✅ Relationship OCD Case Conceptualisation: often unfamiliar to clinicians this tool can support you to assess, formulate, understand, and treat relationship OCD by giving examples.
- ✅ Case Conceptualisation Generic Guidance completed version: The 3 pronged approach of EMDR through the lens of formative and attachment experiences and the development of OCD as an adaptive response. Mapping the present prong OCD cycles and past prong formative experiences that support in identifying things to note on the collaborative exploration and understanding of “how did it get to be this way”, and of course the direction towards the future prong of where we want to get to.

What Your Colleagues Said About the Event:
What did you find most useful about the 'EMDR for OCD – An Integrative Approach' webinar?
“The fact that it practices EMDR therapy in an integrative fashion, especially as it integrates attachment-based interventions as the psychology literature has established a clear link between OCD and attachment insecurity. ERP is effective for OCD but not for everyone with OCD; Therefore, some people who experience OCD can definitely benefit from other approach(es) that may even integrate ERP”
- Hector Pereles, Licensed Counselor (USA)
"A valuable space to deepen clinical understanding... I'd highly recommend it to any practitioner looking to strengthen their skills." > "Yes - I do enthusiastically recommend the workshop. I would say it is a paradigm shift in how we approach supporting clients living with OCD" — Shiraz Farrand, EMDR Consultant
""very knowledgeable speakers, great detail on how to put theory into practice" Webinar Live Participant
“A person-centred attitude where the client is not pathologised — Dr. Hoda Refaat Mahfouz, Consultant Psychiatrist
of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and how to differentiate from other anxiety disorders.
The specific aims are to:
- Define the diagnostic criteria of OCD: Describe diagnostic criteria for OCD and detail the characteristics of obsessions and compulsions and the associated distress
- Share information on appropriate risk assessment of ego-dystonic thoughts in harm and POCD.
- Explain the difference between ego-dystonic and ego-syntonic thoughts
- Explore the Science so far: Explore the possible aetiology (causes) and neurobiology of the condition.
- Review Recommended Treatment: Present the current evidence-based treatment mainly ERP for OCD and discuss its limitations.
- Introduce a specific OCD-EMDR Case Conceptualisation
- Introduce OCD-EMDR as an Alternative Therapy: Presenting an alternative case conceptualisation of OCD as an adaptive response and the rationale for an alternative therapeutic approach incorporating Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). We provide guidance and demonstrations on how to implement it.
- Offer a rationale for adaption to the standard EMDR Model: Explain why attachment-based adaptations to EMDR improve the standard protocol specifically for clients with OCD.
- Illustrate Practical Application: Support the learning process with case studies demonstrating how to deliver EMDR for OCD using the OCD-EMDR approach.

“Friendly, supportive, informative, instructive. Range/blend of expertise from the supervisors was really great. A person-centred attitude, where the client is not pathologized, and we were looking at 'what happened'. This closely aligns with my original person-centred psychotherapy training”.
